Dr. Tomasz “Tommy” Stryjewski is a board certified ophthalmologist specializing in retinal surgery and macular diseases. He sees patients for consultation at the Lawrence, Massachusetts and Salem, New Hampshire offices and is on the surgical staff of the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary.
Dr. Stryjewski graduated with honors from Harvard Medical School. He trained in internal medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital and in ophthalmology and vitreoretinal surgery at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, where he also served as Chief Resident, Director of the Eye Trauma Service, and was a member of the Harvard Medical School faculty. Dr. Stryjewski is the recipient of numerous awards in ophthalmology, including a Heed Fellowship and the Ronald G. Michels Fellowship Foundation Award, the nation’s highest honor for a retina surgery fellow.
His clinical interests include macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, retinal vein occlusions, and complex vitreoretinal surgery including retinal tears and detachments, macular holes, macular pucker/epiretinal membranes, ocular trauma, and cataract surgery complications.
Dr. Stryjewski splits his time between his clinical practice at Tallman Eye Associates and his busy research program based in Cambridge, MA, where he is actively involved in the discovery and translation of novel treatments for blinding eye diseases.
