Dr. Melissa Mohammad earned her Bachelor of Science in biomedical sciences at Auburn University in 2009. She then went on to attend the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she earned her Doctorate of Optometry in 2013.
During her time in optometry school, she participated in many clinical rotations and internships through the areas of primary care, ocular disease, pediatrics, and contact lenses. Her favorite part of optometry school was spent providing eye care to underserved areas of rural Alabama, and internationally, in Honduras and Colombia.
Following optometry school, Dr.Mohammad completed a year-long residency program in ocular disease at the Veterans Affairs hospital in Jamaica Plain. There she cared for many veterans with diabetic eye disease, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. She joined Tallman Eye Associates in 2014, where she enjoys providing comprehensive eye care to patients of all ages.
In her spare time, Dr.Mohammad enjoys traveling, reading, yoga, singing, and playing piano.
